Artist Marianne Huotari is best known for her delicate ceramic tapestries, which she makes at the Arabia Art Department Society in Helsinki.

Marianne's distinctive ceramic works weave tradition into contemporary art by applying classic Finnish textile techniques with unpredictable materials. With his works, he explores the hectic pace of modern times through the slowness of craftsmanship. Each of her ceramic works is built from small pieces that pass through Marianne's hands, leaving a personal handprint on them. The repetitive nature of the work takes countless meditative hours to complete the artwork.

Various surfaces and organic materials, whose roots are in textile design, flourish in his work. There is something inherent in all his works, which is a gentle approach to design and art, regardless of the subject. In Marianne's art, beauty is combined with craftsmanship and conscious making.

Huotar's works have been awarded in international competitions, commissioned work for the State Art Collection and EMMA - Espoo's Museum of Modern Art. He is a Loewe Foundation Craft Prize 2022 finalist, and his work is represented by Hostler Burrows in New York and Officine Saffi in Milan.
